Ellie is a talented Pro Triathlete from Queensland who has her eyes firmly set on reaching the pinnacle of the sport & the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. We're looking forward to following Ellie's journey and seeing her progress through the pro ranks. We recently caught up with Ellie in Brisbane to find out more about her & her promising career to date. What motivates you to train? Winning! I love to race and I especially love to win. There is no greater motivation than being on top of the podium and I give 110% of myself in every session with that in mind. Do you have a favourite race in the calendar year? My favourite race each year is the Luke Harrop Memorial triathlon in April on the Gold Coast. Loretta Harrop (Luke's sister) is a mentor of mine so it is lovely to do an event that is so close to her heart. I also love racing in Europe throughout summer. Favourite food? Mum's lasagne and ice cream What do you do to chill out in between training? Spending time with friends, shopping and baking sweet treats Who inspires you most in your sport? Loretta Harrop and Erin Densham. Loretta has been a personal mentor for quite some time and was the pinnacle of triathlon throughout her career. Erin Densham has overcome so much adversity to be where she is today and is currently one of the worlds' greatest. Countries visited during your racing career? New Zealand, China, Spain, France, Canada, Hungary Favourite place to train? Vitoria-Gastiez, Spain. I live in Vitoria for three months of each year. It has amazing facilities and beautiful surroundings which are perfect for training and racing. Favourite leg of tri? Running has always been my favourite leg as I come from a running background.
