Congratulations to all the Diploma and Bachelor students who have their work on display at the Moonee Ponds Racecourse Exhibition. A particular mention to Yukari Tanabe who took out the Warwick Dream Weaver Award, I have been a big fan of her sense of style and colour palettes throughout the duration of the course. Best wishes to all of you and thank you for your inspiration!

Yukari Tanabe is a designer and a weaver who is inspired by scenic beauty found within the ordinary of everyday life. She is fascinated by colours, simple shapes and motifs.
I love the simplicity of Yukari's designs. Above is a photograph of a jacquard woven upholstered couch as part of her Dreamweaver Award.

Cassie McDonald is passionate about creating beautiful hand crafted pieces incorporating hand weaving, illustration and a sense of fun.
Aisling Gallagher - designed in Brunswick is inspired by Scandinavian design. Her motifs are very bold and her print work is incredible.
Stephanie Dow from Pepper and polly is inspired by nature, travel, vintage fabrics and Scandinavian design. You can see her passion for nature is reflected in her homewares and accessories range on display at the RMIT Grad exhibition.

Sia Smyth is a weaver and has a very experimental approach to her work. I love this shibori that hangs in the entry of the exhibition, very striking.
