While at the Ironman Expo at the Glasshouse in Port Macquarie last weekend I met the lovely local artist and Stand Up Paddle Board enthusiast Juan. Following the Expo in Port Mac I had a wicked paddle with Juan, spotting sting rays beneath us in the crystal clear waters. It was also wonderful to check out Juan's creative space. Above is a piece of Juan's work called "ANGEL SHOES" which features his daughter, Cody. The other piece was an installation Juan made for the Aqua Sculpture in Port Macquarie a few years back. It consists of mixed media, river rocks, branches, bees wax and shellac.
I love how he incorporates needle and thread into most of his pieces.
As for the SUP, I am checking out boards online and trying to convince Mick of the benefits - highly recommend it!
